Sartomer, part of Arkema group, is a premier global supplier of acrylates and methacrylates monomers, oligomers, and other specialty chemicals for ultraviolet and electron beam (UV/EB), peroxide, and two-part epoxy/amine systems.

For more than 50 years, Sartomer has pioneered the development of these advanced technologies, introducing hundreds of products that enhance performance in coatings, inks, adhesives, composites, rubber and other demanding applications.

How are Sartomer’s products used?

Sartomer’s products are used in ultraviolet, electron beam, peroxide, amine and hybrid cure technologies to enhance the performance of inks, adhesives, coatings, and plastics. Our products are an integral part of end-uses as diverse as hardwood flooring.

What is the shelf life of Sartomer products?

Most of our products (monomers, oligomers, and other specialty products) should be consumed within six months of receipt for optimum performance. Please check the technical datasheet for specific information.

How should products be stored to prolong shelf life?

These materials can polymerize under improper storage conditions. To avoid polymerization and to standardize the properties of the products, the following precautions are necessary:

•           store materials away from direct sunlight and the presence of oxidizing agents and free radicals : use baked phenolic lined carbon steel drums or opaque, dark coloured polyethylene lined drums. Caution : head space should be present in storage containers to support the oxygen requirements of the inhibitor,

•           store drums at temperatures below 45°C. Recommended bulk storage temperatures should remain within the 15-27°C range.
