REACH 2018
With us, make sure the chemicals you use are REACH compliant
Registration Evaluation Authorization of Chemicals
- Non polymeric chemicals, manufactured or imported in the EU, at/or above 1 tpy*
- Polymeric chemicals (their constituents), imported in the EU, at/or above 1 tpy*
*tpy : ton per year
- Limitation of their production/importation tonnage bands
- Limitation of their type of use
What are the consequences for you?
NON REGISTERED CHEMICALS WILL NO LONGER BE AUTHORIZED IN THE EUROPEAN UNION BY MAY 31ST, 2018
If you are using :
- Non polymeric monomers or
oligomers - Imported polymeric monomers
or oligomers
➞ You must check that your supplier has REGISTERED the chemical substance, or its constituents in the case of imported polymers
OUR COMMITMENTS/WARRANTIES:
- Support the REGISTRATION of the market’s acrylates and methacrylates
As major acrylate and methacrylate manufacturer, we are registering the most important number
of chemical substances among the industry
- Strive to substitute hazardous substances with better health and environment alternatives
Case of chemicals manufactured in the EU ➞ Polymers are exempted
Case 1: you are buying non polymeric monomers or oligomers manufactured in the EU,
formulated in or outside the EU, transformed into a polymer or an article in or outside the EU
→ You must ensure that the chemical’s manufacturer has registered the product
Case 2: you are buying polymeric monomers or oligomers made in the EU, formulated in or outside the EU, transformed into an article in or outside the EU
→ Nothing to be done wherever the formulation and the transformation are made
Case of chemicals manufactured outside the EU ➞ Polymers are not exempted
Case 3: you are buying non polymeric monomers or oligomers made outside the EU, formulated in or outside the EU, transformed into a polymer or an article in the EU
→ You must ensure that the chemical’s manufacturer has an OR* in the EU to register the product on his behalf
Case 4: you are buying polymeric monomers or oligomers made outside the EU, formulated in or outside the EU, transformed into an article in the EU
→ You must ensure that each polymer’s constituent has been registered through an OR*
*OR: Only Representative must be a company or a person established in the European Union
If you are using any acrylate, methacrylate monomer or oligomer from Sartomer, we will :
- ENGAGE A CONSTRUCTIVE DIALOGUE WITH YOU TO:
- Define a list of registered products for a given tonnage band
- Anticipate a clear substitution plan and support in case some products must be discontinued
- SHARE OUR EXPERTISE TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS FOR A SMOOTH TRANSITION TO 2018 DEADLINE
